Infant Care Center

Our center provides warm and caring teachers in a safe, stimulating environment for the infants attending our center. Our teachers and classroom spaces encourage infant exploration with stimulation that promotes cognitive, physical, social-emotional and language development.

Our teachers are passionate about providing opportunities for development and excited about your baby’s growth and development. Communication between families and caregivers is a priority. Parents will receive daily communication about their child. A chart is filled out with how much the child ate, diaper changing, napping and of course any milestones.

The Little Footsteps curriculum provides the three components of an early childhood curriculum: Developmentally appropriate experiences, engaging classroom spaces and responsive teacher-child relationships. All are designed to engage your child’s cognitive, social-emotional and physical development.

Classroom Spaces

Our classrooms include areas for movement, learning through play, sleeping, eating and diapering that create a safe and empowering environment. The classrooms require the use of over-shoe booties and are divided into general areas that meet your child’s need to:

Gross Motor: Very young children learn as they move their bodies. We ensure that every baby has room to roll, crawl, pull up, and cruise a space that is safe and inviting. Hanging a mobile over the crib, allowing the infant to hit or kick the hanging objects.  Mini-obstacle courses allows  infants and toddlers to learn new ways to do things. They can go over, under, around or through things, which can help with understanding alternate ways to achieve a goal. This activity can also promote gross motor skills, coordination and balance.

Exploration: Our area for sensory exploration encourages children to explore their inquisitive nature by experimenting with materials, trying new things and investigating the world around them.

Naptime: The teachers will rock your infant, singing or a reading a book to prepare your infant for rest. The teachers will meet your baby’s needs, all in a safe, clean and healthy environment.

Activities: Our daily activities promote thinking and problem-solving skills ex. “Peek-a Boo”, curiosity, exploration, large and small muscle development and positive self-image. It is through sensory and motor experiences that infants develop their cognitive and language development.  Infants learn holistically through their experiences: touching, feeling, grasping and through simple reflex activities. Soft toys such as stuffed animals or rattles provide infants with the opportunity to hold and feel items and use their grasp reflex. Cognitive activities such as stacking blocks or filling and emptying objects can promote motor learning, spatial awareness and cause and effect. All the activities throughout the day will enhance your infants development .
